Ok, so I have installed my alarm on my 01 f150SC and I am 95% complete...problem i am having is i can not figure out the door lock relay for the alarm. Does anyone know where i connect the wires to so they can freakinlock and unlock??? PLEASE HELP
I did that. Ran the wires straight to the driver side door lock/unlock and they still wont lock/unlock...got my test light and made sure I had the right wires...but still nothing...
I had my brother in law install the alarm in my truck, but if i remember correctly, you have to do a few things to the GEM to make the door locks work properly, including diodes to keep it from going into a sleep mode.
Maybe someone who does alarms will be able to chime in a little better than I did.
Door Lock/unlcock actuators stay in a "Neutral state" that is to say that the push rods are in the middle when no signal is sent to them.
When B+ is applied to the circuit, the actuators will push forward...the unlock signal is a B- current appled to the same wires. This "pulls" the rods backwards, and unlocks the door locks.Current reversing relay in the alarm system......
You are going to have to use a DVM(Digital Volt meter) on the actuator leads,or alarm system and identify these lines. Once that is done, you should have lock/unlock.Since im not familair with your specific system,I cant tell you exactly which wires do what.
Hope this helps some.
