Vendor Problems

I don't know what kind of problems you all have have had with parts suppliers but let me tell you what has been going on with me. Three years ago i bought a straight axle rack and pinion kit from No Limit Engineering. I really like the system. I works great but i think the ought to change their name to no help engineering. 4 weeks ago i had the truck out for a drive and hit a bump and the truck quit running. I figured since i just got the truck back from getting painted and all put back together there would be some problems. So i called AAA to haul the truck home. I was about 10 miles away and didn't want to chance trying to get home. The tow truck drive put the hook around the right side tie rod instead of the axle and snapped the tie rod in half. The towing company said the would take care of getting me the new parts required to fix. I gave them all the info required and they contacted No Limit Engineering with the info and they said they would get it out right away. So i waited 5 to 7 days for parts from California but they never came. I called them a week ago this past thursday to find out if they shipped or not. They said the person in charge was at a show and did not get around to it, I said i wnted them to ship 2 day air so i would have it by thursday of last week and would have it in time for memorial weekend. The part came thursday but they sent me the wrong part. I called that evening and told them the sent me the wrong part and he said he would get it out and would have it by tuesday (today). It didn't come today so i called again and he said he has been to busy and he would try to get it out by the end of this week. In the meantime the truck has been sitting in my garage for a month waiting on this part to come from some vendor who doesn't care about his customers. If i had an order for $1000.00 i'll bet it would ship right away. Needless to say i will never buy anything else from these people ever again no matter how good a deal it is.
I am sorry for the long winded tale of woe but i had to vent somehow.

Thanks

Terry

I wonder how much longer they'll be in business. You would think in today's economy that companies like this would be bending over backwards for people. Maybe you can come up with a different source for the part and tell them to stick it.

did you figure out why your truck quit running?
sorry to hear of your news, i'm not familiar with No Limit engineering(never ordered from them anyway) but i'll remember what you said incase i hear it again.

like sam told me... he had problems with Foose wheels, i was getting ready to order foose too. he was the 3rd person to tell me of bad experience's with them, so i'm now looking at boze wheels.

good luck, and maybe the parts fairy will leave you a door step present

I think it was a loose ignition wire caused it to quit running. i won't know for sure until i get it back on the road.

The biggest problem i have is when somebody tells you they are going to do something but do not follow thru. They have done this three times now. I have been very patient throughout this whole ordeal.

The only thing I've brought from them is a custom truck manual which you add all your modification part numbers, they sent it to the wrong address and wanted me to go to the address they sent it to and retrieved it I said no and they sent another one other than that I haven't dealt with them. How is your straight axle rac working out, how's does it feel on the road & steering.

It works great. Have not had any problems at all other than service. Very little bump steer tracks straight and a lot easier to steer than original. It is still a straight axle so it's not perfect but one nice thing about it it does leave a lot more room for headers.

You'll hear goods and bads about all vendors eventually, some true some not. I wouldn't count on a large order being done much differently if they do small orders like that. I won't call any names but I was ordering parts from another vendor 100.00-350.00 worth at a time. It was taking forever to get stuff on top of every excuse (or lie) you ever heard. Most of the time the blame was always put on UPS (poor guys). I thought the way you did, that maybe these small orders aren't important enough to him. So, I decided to purchase $9400.00 worth of inventory from them thinking (surely they'll get this right out). It took 4 1/2 months to get it all. Go figure.
