I received my XRF's last week, and they certainly look good. I remember when I had the Moog units while doing the install on my previous Excursion that you could move the shaft around, but it was somewhat stiff and hard to move.
In comparison, XRF advertises exactly precise machining with virtually no tolerance for loose play, and I can honestly say that they must be right. Try as I might, I CANNOT move the shaft of these XRF units by hand at all, and I can only assume at this point that it is due to their machined "perfect fit".
Right now, I'm picking up my "new" Excursion in Georgia tomorrow, and then going out of town the following weekend, so it will probably be 2-3 more weeks before I get the time to do my driver side BJ's on my F250, but I will post up my comparative installation differences and impressions once I do the job. If I end up replacing the BJ's on my new Ex, which I am planning for financially, at this point in time my intention is to stick with the XRF units... price competitive and seem to be better built than the Moog's, and yes, they are serviceable and come complete with the zerk fittings.
If the job goes well on the F250, then I'll probably go ahead and do the 4-point replacement on the new Excursion as well. The Ex has 132K miles on it and was used to pull a large travel tralier for several years. Like I've said, I'm anticipating the BJ changeout there, along with shocks and the initial 7.3 fuel and intake mods, and hopefully my detailed inspection tomorrow won't reveal any other serious issues which would need immediate attention.
