There is a opening in the top of your ashtray and the light holder is similiar to the one for your wiper and lights. It's shaped like a horseshoe, squeeze and install.
I have the light in mine as well, but it doesn't seem to have the right fitting over my bulb. I have a metal tube about 1.5" long on it. Can anyone get a pic of what it is supposed to look like? I would like to get mine hooked up right. I have cliped mine onto the top of the ash tray and it stays on as long as the lights are on. I was kinda hoping it would go on and off when you open/close the tray.
i have never seen one of these trucks have the light but they all have the place for it in the ash tray mount...i would love to have one my self that way i wasnt fumbling around in the dark trying to hit the ash tray and not the floor...lol

Yeah, it just stays on with the lights. It's not sophisticated enough to shut on off with the ashtray being open/closed.
