Cat-back worth it?

My state (NV) does an annual visual inspection in addition to a emission test on small diesels. I've heard good stuff about going to a 4" pipe but am wondering if it's worth it when all I can swap out is cat-back v. turbo back?

You CAN do a full turbo back install. You just cannot delete the muffler nor cat.

My 4 inch turbo back Magnaflow muffler kit came with the reducers and flanges to install the cat if reinstalling it..also came with a nice Magnaflow muffler and welded on 5 inch tip. Sounds SOOO much better Not so sure the neighbors are going to enjoy me comming home at 3am now

Muffler not really the issue. They all come with a free flow muffler. I can't delete the cat so you're saying that I might benefit from having a larger pipe from turbo to OEM cat then cat-back?

I guess I doubt if anyone has bought both and compared but interested in any benefits people that did a cat-back alone might have noticed.

I like the fact that the tip was already attached. It's pretty loud though?

The only difference I noticed after installing a catback is that when towing up long steep hills it doesn't downshift as much, it will stay in one gear because you can feel that the torque curve has changed a bit. It definitely sounds much better. You can hear some turbo whistle out the tailpipe.

just order the turbo back with cat delete pipe then when you get it inspected put the cat on. I dont really see anything being different than stock with cat back other than it will sound better. But as far as proformance or lowering egt's I dont think it will help any
