300c inline
i blew my head gasket from over heating, and i get alot of blowby,
would it be worth it to pull the motor and do my rings and rebuild motor, or just do head gasket, i have a 86 4x4 with an 80 f150 body, but i have a 94 4x4 inline efi. would it be easyer to just put the efi in my old 4x4? im lost
and i have a 2wd 81 xlt, i want to convert all my 4x4 and flares and crome to the xlt because it has no rust. im lost lol. thnx

I would pull the heads and check the cylinders for condition and roundness (with a gauge)- if the cylinders are good, then slide the pistons out, put on a set of rings, check the bearings/crank for wear issues (or just bearing replacement), rebuild the head and you're good to go for quite a while- without pulling the engine.
Ideally, sure it would be nice to start off with a completely rebuilt engine, but this would be a very goos mininal investment solution.
The efi is a good engine but you will need the engine management system & harness- also the swap would now require you to go to a federal referee station for smog inspections and you would be heald to the newer engine emission standards
