trac loc? help
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-May-02 AT 04:07 PM (EST)]I have a 1978 F-150 Ranger XLT and I was wandering if i had trac loc or not, I have a 400 motor and a large steel flatbeed. I cannot peel out at all on pavement but when i give it a shot on grass it spins both tires. What are some ways of telling if i have trac loc or not?

Put the rear end up on stands, chock the fronts put the tranny in gear. Turn one wheel by hand. If the other wheel turns in the opposite direction, you have an open rear. If it doesn't want to turn at all, you have a Trac-Lok. Take it out of gear, turn the wheel by hand, the other wheel should turn in the same direction if it's a Trac-Lok.
