I replaced my donut seal today and now I have noticed my trannie chattering noise much more now that I don't have a up-pipe leak drowning everything out.
Basically the chattering noise can be heard coming up through the stick of my 6 speed.
When taking right hand bends while driving down the hwy the chatting seems to subside but you can hear it the rest of the time.
yea, it's not new news that the gov't doesn't think clearly but Chase I never thought you go and join them.
Anyhow, just as an update for those that are reading this post. I had a friend take a listen and he thinks it's the passenger side up pipe donut leaking, which makes some sense. I'll have Chase take a listen later when we catch up but in order to change that donut out I'll have to either remove the turbo and the up-pipes or drop the trannie. Something I'm not looking forward to but we'll see if I can do it.
If I drop the trannie I'll be putting in a kevlar bushing as I already have a new clutch but it's stock.
I'll also be cleaning the top of the trannie as I know it's very dirty.
Other then that I can't think of anything else that needs to be done if I pop the trannie out.
So if it comes down to it are you up to the challenge chase?
If you drop the tranny, check the throwout fork closely. Even the late design forks get cracks in them. Pay close attention to the edges. I think they created stresses in the fork in the stamping process.

Pulling the turbo should be easy sleasy. Dropping the trans... well I'll just say that we'll need a trans jack. Should be no big deal if thats what you want to do.
