I tried to hook up my hard drive (backup) to import music. It would play but was unable to move any music onto the hard drive.

What is the usb2 mod you are talking about? I have sync and the single cd player, not the nav system. Never thought of trying a thumb drive or external HD.

on top/center of your dash board is a removable cover. When you remove this cover there will be another spare USB mini port that you can run an extra cable to where ever you like. Beware though that you should test your cable before you fully install them as people have been having problems with centain cables. This way you keep the front free of mp3 player and harddrives and can mount one in the glove box or center console storage area.

Hey thanks a lot for the info Bsimmer, I will take my cover off tomorrow and check it out, will be nice to have a hidden extra drive that is out of the way. You guys on the forum are great for info, especially stuff like this that I would never have found on my own!
