Hey all. Just picked up an 85 Fullsize bronk with a 302 in it and a 4spd, 6 inch lift. The motor and truck have been sitting for about a year with no intake, sparkplugs, basically the whole top of the motor. I took it home and tried to turn the motor over by hand, but it wouldnt budge. befor it sat, the whole motor was torn down to the bare block and rebuilt. Afther this, it sat. Now it doesnt turn over by hand.
Should I take this motor out again and tear it down and free it up somehow? And what all do I need to put it back together. I have so far, what i know of is heads, edlebrock intake, 4bbl edlebrock carb, spacer(i think) and distributer. also, there is rust on the heads where the intake sits. Would the motor have seized up from rust internally? Thanks in advance
Its possible. I would try to look in the spark plug holes. (maybe with a bore scope) You could pull all plugs and pore some oil in the cylinders and try to turn it over. Dont put the plugs back in until you get it free. If you do free it up, I would spin it with no plugs untill it has oil pressure. If you get it running, I would change the oil a couple times in a row. (run it to temp in between)
