Torque converter install
The following is regarding an auto trannie in a 91 Aerostar:
Had a trannie leak at the front seal. What besides a bad front seal would cause fluid to leak out the seal. Could this leakage be caused by an increase in internal pressure from the converter or trannie forcing the fluid out thru the seal? The trannie works fine and the fluid color is ok. Just had this leak. The seal "looks" ok but looks are decieving. When I re install the converter does it install on the shaft in a particular way. Before I took it off the trannie I measured the distance from the from of the converter to the front edge of the belhousing. As I slipped it back over the shaft at different points it seem to mount up the same with the same distance?
