Need your thoughts
I'm looking at a 94 f-250 diesel and the guy says it has fuel issues.He says somebody diagnosed it as one of the fuel pumps or the fuel relay.It will start but runs rough and won't accelerate.Are the fuel pumps mechanical or elec.?How expensive are the pumps?Thanks

being a 94 it could two possibilities. It could be a powerstroke, meaning that it would have one mechanical fuel pump in the valley of the motor, the pump runs less than $150 depending on where you get one from. The other option is that it could be an IDI motor, and if I remember correctly, probably not, but the IDI's have two pumps, one on the motor, and one in the tank, and I have no idea what one would cost for an IDI

The IDIs have a lift pump like a gasser down on the passenger front side about 30-40 bucks, and they have an injector pump up in the valley towarde the front. It will have steel lines running to each injector. That one runs from 300 to 500 depending where you get it from.
