Key Fob Problems
Well I'm sure I'm not the first guy to have this happen so hopefully someone can help me out here. Been working out of the country for 26 days now and finally ready to head home in a few days. Wife called me yesterday to let me know that she had to move my truck the other day and then threw my keys on the bumper of her Jeep (apparently a great place to leave things if you're a woman). Well low and behold she forgot them there and then drove to the store and they ended up on the street and got driven over about 60 times. Needless to say the Key Fob is in a million pieces and the rest of my keys look like they went through a washing machine full of rocks. Worst part is I can't even give her Sh** cause she's 6 months pregnant, haha. She can apparently still get into the truck via the keyless entry pad but now she has no way to disarm the panick alarm that is built in. Anyone know how to disable that without the key fob?? Anyone have a clue what the new fobs are worth with the command start option and I'm guessing I have to go to the dealer to get it programmed to work with my truck? As well I'll prob need a new key, I heard they are chipped keys now so I'm guessing I'll need the VIN # to order that too? Any other advice would be appreciated, can't wait to deal with this mess when I get home. Thanks
