351 problems
hi, I recently found out that my belt tensioner was on its way out, it wobbles and makes a humming noise. I picked one up at the junkyard and it still did the same thing, my questions is wheather I am installing it properly, are these belt tensioners a 1 time use style, where they must be bought brand new? The truck is a 1995 f250 351.

You might have better luck posting this in the 87-96 forum or the Small block V8 forum, this is the 335 series small block forum and they quit make them in 1982. I have changed these out but have never had this problem, but no they aren't a one time use deal I have taken them off and reinstalled no problem. Are there any other idlers that might be bad or mabey a water pump that is worn out causing the pulley to wobble some? Welcome to the site and I am sure once you get your question in a forum where people actually know these motors and trucks some one will be able to help you more than me.

Those belt tensioners need to be replaced once in a while, as they are known to get wobbly and make noise. You can find them pretty cheap too, brand new, Definitely not worth putting a used one in there.
