Ignition module
opinions are out there on quality modules.
The one I'm running now is a Niehoff, heavy duty.
I've never heard of this brand before.
I'm not having any problems, but I would like to have a
back up module with me so that I'm covered.
I guess my question has more than one part. Here they are.
1) Who makes good quality modules?
2) What do you think of Niehoff?
2b) If Niehoff is a quality replacement, do you know who distributes them?
Thanks, Murph.
I have heard that the best modules are the original Motorcraft modules, and the best place to get them is the junkyard. I believe new ones are pretty high.
All of this is second hand info, but what I have heard is Motorcraft never released the schematics of the circuits inside these modules, so the aftermarket ones are "reversed engineered", and not exactly the same as the originals.
If you have a back up module though, I would not hesitate to just buy another aftermarket module as a back-up.
