Well I got the block the other day and guess what,it was a 390.The guy had stated that there was 428 cast into the water jacket,it was not,one of the guys here noticed that their was still gasket material on the deck,there was,I have read on cobrajet.org that if you can squeak a 15/64's drill bit in between the cylinders that it is NOT a 428,the drill bit fit,obviously the 'a" on the block of the block was welded.But the final evidence,the sonic test,i sonic checked the block and the # cylinder was less than .090 in most cases.I faxed it to my machine shop and they said it is either a very good 390 or a poorly cast 428 but in any case it is beat.The good news is that the guy will pay for the shipping back and refund my money,I think he really believes that it is a 428 and just doesn't want to admt that he got duped.I could have bought a 428 police interceptor complete for 4000 bucks but I have my heart set on building my own.I bought an "A" block from pops performance with the heavy webbing,he is going to clean,magnaflux,bake,pressure test,and sonic test the block all for 1040 bucks.I tell the story just to share the info,buying off ebay with paypal is the way to go,i will have my money back in a week.By the way,anybody who has been following this,any suggestions on cam grinds?
