Check the frame width on the f250 to see if it matches the f150. Some of the f250's had a narrower frame under the bed. I think it was in the earlier years, but can't remember which years. If so, just means you have to drill new holes in the bed to mount it.

hogworkzinc:
You are thinking of "HiBoy"
They have narrower frames.
They also have a Factory 4" Lift.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Basic definition provided by user: BigBuddy
The basic definition seems to be:
A "Hiboy" is a Ford truck that came from the factory as having the following:
- Built from 1967 thru 1977.5.
- F-250.
- 4x4.
- Divorced transfer case.
Trucks that are NOT considered a Hiboy are:
- Any truck built after mid-1977. It goes by Consecutive Build Number in the VIN# anything built starting Y80001 is a 77 1/2. **
- Anything other than an F-250.
There will always be a couple very oddball exceptions but, for the most part, this is it.
Front axle choices in the "Hiboy" were either the 8 lug Dana 44 or the old style low-slung pinion Dana 60 (commonly referred to as the Dana 50). Engine choices were either the 6 cylinder or 360 2 bbl. Steering was either manual or power ram assist.
It has been pointed out that the 300, 351M, and 400 were the engines available in the 77 model year.

I had good experiences with Mike's truck salvage. I have three different emails for him, not sure which one is still good.

That black box is the a/c evaporator, I think. As far as modifing a none a/c cab, lots of work IMO.

Would rather swap bad a/c cab for better a/c cab, will make whole job go quicker.

But what fun is the easy way?

well me and my friend went cab shopping all day. Looked at close to 100 trucks and only found one cab that was any good. Its a 75 that has a 78 inspection sticker!! The gas tank behind the seat but that hole should be easy enough to weld up. couple a large dents in the roof but looks quite fixable. The guy wants 850 for it. I realize that these are difficult to find but that seems high. What do you guys think? O and it is not an A/C cab either. My friend has a lead on one from texas, shipped up, No rust at all for 1100. I think that would be better. I also have another friend who has probably 25 of these trucks in his collection. He is gonna look at his parts trucks to see if he has a usable cab

I just bought a whole truck that I drove home that needs a passenger floor pan the rest of the cab is solid for $600. So yeah I wold say $850 sounds pretty high to me and most of these trucks are pretty rusty around here finding a decent cab isn't super easy. Cabs are a lot easier than beds though.

$850 for just a non a/c cab that needs work, ouch. I would keep looking unless you are in a big hurry to do this.

I can get them for 100 to 500 all day, guess it depends where you are located, good luck.

850 for just a cab is pretty steep, maybe if it was in cherry condition and you lived in the rust belt and the guy was going to install it for you lol, were i you i'd keep my 850 and keep looking, something better is bound to show up eventually.

Thats the thing. I live in NE PA. the salt belt of the world. They spray calcium cloride on the roads 4 hours before it is suppose to snow and avery pass of the plow another application of salt. Even the late 90's and superdutys are rotting out herer. My buddy want to take his truck to Carlisle truck show in AUG.
