It could just be a worn out tailshaft bushing. If they can just replace the bushing, the new bushing shouldn't cost more then $10, plus labor.

Replacing AOD

Hey guys. Took my baby in the other day to get her looked at, thought she had bad U-joints but they seemed tight to me.. and found out my tranny is bad, theres tons of wobble in the tailshaft and it's not doin' so good. Not sure how much this is gonna cost, I might have to get rid of my '85 and get something else. Anyways, a transmission shop is evaluating it right now. Is there anything I should watch out for as far as getting ripped off or played? Just wondering, cuz this could be a really costly thing if they want to rebuilt it and charge me for stuff I dont need. Ok guys thanks
