85f150

My 85f150 starter keeps running after i turn key to off.Have disconnect battery cable,to stop it.Had starter check and its ok,pos cable get hot. Could use your help on this problem. thanks

umm.. id say check the location of the cable. make sure its not to close to anything to get that hot.

are you running the computer controlled ignition or Duraspark?

Sounds like your starter solenoid mounted on the passenger side inner fender behind the battery is hanging up. Try raping it good with something to see if it will release. Otherwise, you will need to replace it. This is very common on these trucks. Good Luck!

Yep, starter relay Or way less likely ign switch. Its the thing with 2 big wires and one small if you didnt know already

I like say thanks,to you all for your help.It was the starter solenoid that mounted on passenger side inner fender.Going buy new one. And again thank you all.
