I'm usually in the 48 to 60 forum posting, but a friend of mine is looking at a 2000 Harley Davidson model truck. It only has 8600 miles on it and looks really good, the dealership wants close to 18,000 for it. It really seems clean, can't really find anything wrong with it. Looking for your thoughts on this as I know nothing about these trucks but told my buddy I'd ask.
it is a truck that is 9 yrs old...maybe 10 yrs old depending on the build date
I don't care if it had 5 miles on it.
I just sold my 2006 F-150 Supercrew with a Roushcharger. Truck was fully loaded. I got $22,000. I consider myself lucky. @ 26,000 miles, and under 3yrs old.
A Harley D. holds a bit more value...but nothing like that. I would offer the Dealership maybe...maybe $12,000-$14,000 max for that truck.
it may have low mileage...but with the newer vehicles, if you don't use 'em, they go bad.
little things like electronics and the fluids go bad from sitting and collecting water condensation
Thanks for the reply, my buddy was so taken by the truck he went and got it before I got back to him, I found that the Blue Book price was almost $15K and he paid over that! Glad its his money and not mine.
I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me.
I have a 2000 harley that I bought with 6500 miles for 16500K, and believe me it was the best buy i've bought. Even though KBB listed that truck for 15k it was definately worth more so somewheres around 16-18k is a good price and 12k would be ludicrous.
