Possible Tranny Problem

Morning Folks
I have a 95 F250 with 90K miles, E4OD, great truck, I love it, never had a problem with it.

I am new to the site, and enjoy all the info and help.

In L1/2, my engine requires a lot of pedal, with high revs, to get little, VERY little wheel movement. I seems like its not in gear, but it is.

Any suggestions or opinions are welcome.

Gallophill

I love you guys, can I have your Bud Light.

Possible Tranny Problem

Does everything work OK in Drive?
I'm wondering if the linkage needs adjusted. It sounds like it is not getting shifted all the way to 1 and is only making it to 2.

Possible Tranny Problem

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Jun-02 AT 06:34 PM (EST)]Electronic internal contraptions not withstanding, check the following for leaks: Tranny cooler lines at radiator and at tranny, underside of bellhousing, Tailshaft seal, and shift-selector shaft. Of course this is to be done after you've checked the tranny dipstick for a fluid level(color should be reddish-pink) while hot and running@idle. If you have no leaks and no fluid loss check you're vacumm modulator hookup. Outside of any of these possibilities you probably have burnt clutches and bands and are in need a rebuild or a suitable junkyard donor. Don't bother with the "well maybe if I give it just one last full fluid change" because all you will have accomplished, aggravation aside, is lightening your wallet of $20-$25 worth of fluid. Such is the sad, sad, song of the juice tranny.

Post Possible Tranny Problem

Hey thanks for the info, Everything works great, no shifting problems; highway, full throttle, load of gravel, steep mountain or pulling heavy trailer.

Just all the play in the column shifter. You have to count done the notches to know where you are. Also, sometimes, when taking it out of P, it slides right by R to N then one more notch to D.

Thanks ahead of time for any ideas.
