Our gas is 104.9 as well, I just don't understand why!!! When the price of oil isn't nearly as high as it was last year. At this rate if oil does go as high as it was last year we will be paying $2-$3 a liter.
Greed, thats it, just plain ol greed. I guess when the price of oil is high they have to jack up the prices to get fat pockets, and when the price of oil is low, they have to keep jacking up the price to keep their pockets fat.
i think they're really going to screw themselves this time though. people don't have the spare cash like they did last year, many people are being extremely frugal for fears that the economy will get worse. travelling will be cut majorly and the oil/fuel companies will be left with surplusses. i'd really like to see them get screwed...even if its half as bad as we've been...
I really dont see people driving any more <> less when the price of fuel is high vs low. We live in a rural area and have to travel for things -- everything from socializing to kids involvement in extra cirricular activities to parts pickup, grocery shopping, doing any type of business, etc
People have moved to more economical cars when constant commuting is required but the norm here is a gas half ton 4x4 to a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel and everyone has to drive --- not much changes. The fuel I use in my truck is actually peanuts when Brutus (my 4x4 tractor drinks 20 gallons per hour)
I know of many people that are cutting back on fuel use.
All in defferent ways, but cutting back....Some bought a small car and leave the truck parked most of the time.
To shorter holiday trips than originally planned.
To just not heading out shopping as much even, to save gas.
Me, I rarely drive the truck for daily errands, I just ride a motorbike.
It uses 1/4 the gas, and is good for general running around.
Unless you make alot of miles, pull heavy trailers or haul heavy loads I doubt that there`s a big $$ advantage with a diesel powered truck if you can comfortably get by with a regular F150... But then again maybe that`s just my way of thinking....
