i did a search, and i think i found the issue, but want confirmation before i buy any parts. i turn on the heated seat, and it works properly(15mins) and shuts off. i turn it on again, and it agains works as it should. when i try to turn it on again, it won't turn back on until the vehicle is restarted. i like to use it continuously on long trips for my back, but it's a pita to keep shutting the truck off. is it normal, or is the seat blower motor junk? not likely the control module?
Sounds like it could be the early stages of a blower failure. When I lost one of mine it went from working to not working, although it was in my wife's so the rides were short. It may have acted that way had it been on longer jaunts. When I realized it wasn't working it acted as you described but didn't come on for more than a second or two. Would always reset with the key. Cost around $400 to fix at the dealer, so you could probably do it for $125 I'm guessing.
i have the part here, and it would run me under $50. not doesn't llok like it would be too dificult, but i haven't looked unde the seat yet. does it work everytime you use it now?
Hey mark, did that fix your issue? I recall reading somewhere that there is a power saver feature that cuts the heat system off after so long. You know, incase you forget you *** is on fire. Stupid I think. Never have a problem with the seat cool shutting off though. Anyway, mine has always done the same thing, you can use it 3 times and then the ignition has to be cycled off and back on again.
