the headers arent leaking, and are the originals, but, i would like to get them replaced with something a little more up to date. i would also like to know the current easy upgrades. im looking into an intake and other things. would love to know what would really make it save gas, more power, etc.
in lamens terms, which headers are good for gas saving, more power, better this and that etc.
Headers are headers. If you want to upgrade the mpg and performance start with the head. It is the big choke point in these engines. Porting with port matching and blending, polishing the chambers and the exhaust side and a 3-angle valve job with 30* back-cut on the valves will do wonders. Then your bolt on stuff whether headers, intake, etc., will have something to work with.
s/headers/exhaust manifold(s) perhaps (meaning "headers" should be read or spelled "exhaust manifolds")? That was my understanding. I agree, though, doing some massaging and conditioning of the cylinder head will do wonders on these things.
