NP435 to M5R2
Will a M5R2 bolt into the place of an NP435 transmission?
My '85 has the hydrolic clutch with the NP435; but, I would like a 5-speed.
Is the NP 435 and M5R2 the same length - do I need different drive shafts?

Bad idea, the NP435 is about as strong as you're gonna get in a factory trans. They are very hard to break. The Mazda transmission on the other hand have no business being in a truck, or behind anything more than a 4 cylinder. Do yourself a favor and pick up a ZF5. They aren't that hard to come by and can be had for a few hundred.
