I'm getting ready to do my first mod on my truck... exhaust. Regardless of how I have it exit, I'm getting a 4" turbo back exhaust, no cat, no muffler. Now, my question is how should I have it exit? Stacks or pipes? I personally don't really like stacks EXCEPT for 6" mitre cut stacks that meet with the roof line. I love the look of mitre cuts that are done well, not just hacked in there. I know of two trucks on the area that have stacks (the stack craze isn't big here, so it'd stand out ). My other option would be to run pipes to the back and have 6" slash cut tips. I'm leaning towards the stacks, but would love the hear some opinions.
i like the style stacks your talking about a lot and i'm sure they would sound/look sweet on your truck... but i personally think DRW trucks look the best with stacks.
If you tow anything and have no way of "turning" them off to divert the exhaust, your stuff will get sooted up bad.
In CA stacks are pretty much only seen on big rigs. Even if they were popular...(I am going to get crucified) they make trucks look like wanna be big rigs...and kinda silly..... Just my opinion.
Hey Brentos,
DUDE HOW ARE YOU GETTING SOOO MUCH SMOKE OUT OF YOUR TRUCK......THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if your gonna run stacks you better be able to blow a lot of coal when you step on it then there cool if not leave them on the big rigs were they belong lol but they havent caught on were i live at all
I like stacks. I have a 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust already though. Plus I have a tonneau cover at the moment so I don't think I could have stacks with it.
I'm old skool, leave the stacks for the fummins guys, besides I like filling ricer windows. Now how can you send soot through someones window if you have stacks?
Rain was always a problem with stacks on the larger equipment and semi, wet soot sticks to everything, probably why I wouldn't put a set my truck.
