Okay, I just bought a 1993 F150 ext cab and I have an aftermarket head unit and 1800 watt amp, and a 12 inch rockford punch that I had in my old truck. Me and my friend were discussing were to put it and he was saying under the seat of the back row, but the thing is there is that I wanted to get a kicker. I don't think a kicker or any normal size box would fit under the seat so do you guys have any suggestions as of where to put them or anything along those lines?
Also, my amp is an 1800 watt amp, but I might buy another one, so what is some good brands? Or is it really just personal perfferance? Thanks, Tyler.
Sound wise, it doesn't really matter where you place it as long as it doesn't get too muffled or rattle another part. I think you need 5-6" to put a box and sub under the seat, if it could fit, it would be tight. Maybe a console box in the back?
I think it comes down to getting what you pay for. For some reason $1/watt comes to mind, but I don't think it's all that applicable. The only thing I can think to help you out is to check the fuses, a 1800 watt amp, should have about 130 amps worth of fuses on it. If it doesn't have that or more, then it probably doesn't put out that much wattage.
The fuse is bigger than that, but I was just asking about the amps. In an extended cab truck then where would you suggest putting it at? I don't think it'l fit underneath the seat if i'm going to get a 15" kicker, but I would like to have room in he back for people to sit in, unless I need to put it there and no other choice then that is fine.
If your thinking about a 15" speaker, you'll need a big box. I don't think you'll get the volume (displacement wise) for the speaker. For the 15, you'll probably end up with 1/3 to 1/2 of the back seat covered with box. I think each 15 will run in the 1.5-2cf range, so your looking at a box with the rough dims equaling 12x12x18-24", or 6"x18x32" on the small side. If you only have one side door to the rear, then I would build a box that took up the minimum of the seat, but covered the non-opening side.
Think someone here has some pictures of the basic idea I am thinking about done in their bronco.
The fuse bit is for looking at new ones. If they don't have enough fuse, then you'd probably want to steer clear of it. Most everyone has manuals online that should contain the fuse ratings and quantity.
I think I have an idea of what you're talking about, but i'm not 100% sure. One of my friends has two 15" kickers that he fit in his single cab dodge ram. He just had to tear a bunch of **** out in order to get them to fit. So I know I can make them fit, but I would like for them to have room to sit in about to seats in the back. I thought about just putting it directly behind the center console, but i'm not sure if it'd fit.

V x A x E = W (Voltage x Amperage x Efficiency = Wattage) (Peak)
Do they really fuse them for efficiency? Most I've seen have barely enough fuse for P=IE, but I don't have a use for more than a few hundred watts either.
