Hey everyone looking to buy an aftermarket bumper after a fender benders wrecked mine and the body piece above it, anyone know of any running at reasonable price (ie under a grand?)?
If there isn't would there by chance be interest in them? As if there aren't any (and everything i've looked at runs way north of 1500) i may end up just building one for myself, and because i'm looking for a hobby/afterwork project i may consider building a few pending how mine comes out.
I know of buck stop (my favorite), iron bull, those aluminum ones, ranch hand, road armour, anyone else?
Speaking from personal experience, aftermarket body parts are not what they lead you to believe they are. The quality and fit are not up to OEM specs and they are not made from the same dies as the OEMs. "You get what you pay for" is true for body parts as well as paint or tools or anything else. If you ask any bodyman, not shop manager, they will tell you that the only reason they install aftermarket parts is because the insurance companie force them to use these substandard parts on your vehicle. The reason for this is to protect their profits, not to benefit you or me. Dan.
yeah i've alraedy located some of the other body parts that i need so i'm not overly interested in that, good prices though.
Personally after looking at the ranchhand and frontier bumpers, i don't really like the way they look, i think i'm gonna try to build my own, i'll try to keep updates posted too, gonna get started on it this weekend.
