Global warming ? Really....

Here's today's forcast from Evironment Canada.

Warnings
City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park
3:13 PM MDT Monday 18 May 2009
Snowfall warning for
City of Edmonton - St. Albert - Sherwood Park issued

5 to 10 centimetres of snow tonight and up to 20 centimetres Tuesday.

Snow continues to fall in the Hinton and Edson regions. Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres have been reported as of 2 PM this afternoon. Snow will intensify through central Alberta tonight and Tuesday as a pacific disturbance pushes through the area. This system will bring a further 10 to 25 centimetres of snow to much of central Alberta especially to areas west and north of Edmonton. Snow will taper off Tuesday as the system moves out of the province.

All I can say about global warming... Where's my share.

ive been saying that since i heard about global warming... considering we had 5 feet of snow fall this winter pretty much at once... that turned into ice and compacted it down... then another couple of feet... hell i figured with this global warming, i would have weather like cali in no time... time to start driving my truck again... maybe i should get something that blows clouds of black smoke??? to add my fair share to global warming and help speed the process up??

Even when the winter has been frigid and spring slow in coming, the global warming BS crowd will tell you colder winters and weak spring are just a symptom of global warming.
Just keep sending Al Gore more money!.

Winters here in MN have been getting longer and colder in the last 5 years, there was snow last week.

There is no global warming, it is global climate change. Just like the earths climate has been changing for millions of years, this is no different.

Well sure some places may seem colder that can make people in those places think there is no global warming......but the photos from space show the ice caps ARE melting........or do you say the photos are fake?

This is getting too serious. I just thought it kind of sucked that it snowed on the May long weekend.

Here is an interesting article about how ...sometimes...scientific measurement of global warming can be wrong...significantly wrong.

I don't know what I think about global warming. I think that it is happening but I don't think that it will be as bad as the scientist say it will be.

I don't know about the warming either, but I can look at the pictures of the ice caps over a period of time and see a difference. You can look at pictures over time where there used to be ice and snow and now is bare ground. For my part I'd rather address the possibility of a problem instead of sticking my head in the sand and saying it is all just a joke to promote Gore.

Does anyone consider the possibility that the ice caps melting are part of a regular cycle as well? We don't have photo records from 100 years ago, let alone 500 years ago. There is evidence that suggests Greenland was once just that, green! If so, then the ice caps have to retract even further to match such a feat. For quite a while, the greenhouse effect people were claiming the sun had nothing to do with the warming, but yet, it has everything to do with it. If it put out more heat, then we have more heat to receive, It puts out less heat, then it cools us off. There have been proven cycles in the output of the sun, and the belief is that we were in a high cycle, now headed for a cooling cycle. The 70's were some of the coldest on record, and the sun spot activity was at a minimum. We had a lot of sunspot activity through the 80's and early 90's. It also has been more or less proven the Golden Age, the renaissance period, was warmer than we are now. The Dark ages, times of famine and plague, were colder than we are to the point crops failed and disease ran rampant. They believe we had a little ice age at that time as well. Basically, everything runs in cycles, to expect it to just stay as was is folly. CO2 is still a relatively small part of our atmosphere, water vapor is a better greenhouse gas, but I don't see anyone wanting to limit that...

Exactly. Very well put. The voice of reason.
