hello friends.
seems to me my aero is ill.
well, about desease.
this winter I got cyl#5 spark plug goes out. I use to cleane it with sandblaster, heat on hob and engine runs well, but problem gets progressively frequent. Then, I got blue smoke and dissapearing oil. I have 7 BAR comression in this cyl, and when I crank engine with starter with disabled ECM I can hear that passing #5 cyl engine crancks faster.
I understand that I probably have failed piston ore rings and it is time to remove dr. side head and see what is inside. I wanna do it with engine in doghouse.
I wanna try to pull head carefully to reuse head gasket. I know that it is a bad idea, but I wanna save some $$ and I wanna use used piston (I have one 3.0 V6 with broken block).
Well, who did it? Any tips, that can help me )))....

I haven't done this before. I don't think you'll have a problem with a used pistons, but pray tell, why don't you just rebuild another engine and swap them, then figure out what is up with the old one? I shouldn't be too hard to find a compatible rebuildable or usable as is engine.
As for reusing the head gasket, I would say that will probably not work. I would plan on at least replacing the gasket.
