Grill, lights, bumper comparison

OK... we all know how it is. You get your X and you go crazy. What mods can I do? Which is most important to me? What "look" do I want to go for? Etc, etc. I am sure we have all been through it. Anyway, now I am on the grill/front end deal.

I read a lot about full swaps of 2006 front ends which includes:
bumper, lights, grill, supports, etc. By my quick calculations this can easily run $1000 just in parts.

The I saw some "modified" grills and aftermarket lights on eBay and it looks like I can achieve a very similar look for $600 and a lot less work.

Take a look at this and give me your opinions.

Modified grill item: 04 05 06 07 Modified Ford Grill Superduty Grille F250:eBay Motors (item 250413797015 end time May-25-09 23:02:38 PDT)

Lights: 99 00 01 FORD F250 F350 SUPERDUTY 2007 HEADLIGHTS SET :eBay Motors (item 180355059791 end time May-18-09 12:21:07 PDT)

I like those modified grills. Saw one on a SD the other day.

Not sure about the lights though. The new ones use a different bulb and I do not know enough about any kits that convert your sockets to the new one or if any exist.

The crystalline lights are nice. Why would you want to change them?

I have the original 2001 lights and I like the 1 piece look better.

I wonder what the total cost has been for people who have gone through the entire swap-out of the front end?

I have their grille on my 2001. It fits and looks great. I went with lights from a 2007 F250 from a local salvage yard and a wiring harness from dfuser.com. The lights set me back $250 and the harness was $69.

Good info here. http://www.dfuser.com/Install%20Guid...Conversion.pdf
