Do I need an EGR kit?

Is it possible to disconnect the EGR without ant side effects to the engine or do I need one of these kits that I see that are pretty costly and require a lot of work. Also I just received new tunes for my truck in March will I need different tunes with the EGR disconnected or bypassed

No you can't just disconnect it. If you get custom tunes you can.

Yes you should buy one of those kits either way.
