95 f150 speedo stopped working and shifting very hard?? please help.

i have a 95 f150 withthe 302 and an auto tranny. out of nowhere my speedo and odometer stopped working. at the same time it made my tranny shift really hard throughout all the gears. plus it shifts at very high rpms compared to when it would shift right away. i tried to replace the abs/ speedo sensor on the back of the rear dif and didnt fox the problem. i also just disconected my battery to try to reset something. still didnt work. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Mine started making a crackling noise in the dash when I get above 60mph and the needle jumps a little. Do I need to lubricate the cable somehow?

There is a 2nd speed sensor on the back of the speedo itself. I had the same problem with my 96 and this solved the problem. I changed my whole speedo.
