first, are there any differences in c6s behind a 460? i have two, one mid 70's and one 89. havent really looked at both at the same time, so i was just wonderin. other question, anyone ever installed a hurst shifter for their c6? how do you get the shifter arm off to install the new one? any help/tips would be appreciated. thanks
There were (say "were" because they are no longer built by ford) 3 flavors of C-6's
FE (352,360,390,406,410,228)
Small Block (289,302,351W/C)
Big Block (351M, 370,400, 429,460)
Also there are THREE different torque converters for C-6's
C-6 1971-91, 289, 302, 351, 400, 429, 460 cid with 1.375" crank pilot*
C-6 1971-91, with 1.250" crank pilot*
C-6 1966-84 332, 360, 390, 406, 427, 428, (1967-71 429) cid with 1.850 crank pilot
* Note: C-6 1969-71 429 & 460 could have 1.250" or 1.850" pilot
