Red face Fender Flares...

Hi everyone, new to the board, so bear with me.

I have a 2000 Excursion with the black fender flares, but the clear coat(?) that was on them is peeling and looks terrible. I want to buy new ones, do they make ones that fit right over the old ones, or can I remove them myself and pop on the newbies? I'm a 25 yr old girl who admittedly knows CRAP about the specifics of cars/trucks...so when I say can *I* remove them, I'm pretty much asking, "Could an amputee gorilla do it with his eyes closed?" I can change a tire, I can add washer fluid. That's about my level of experience. Should I bring the stuff to an auto body and have them do it? Also, do you have any brands/websites you'd recommend?

Thanks so much!

First of all, welcome to the forum!

It would be the most cost effective to take the truck to some autobody shops amd have them look at the peeling clearcoat and give you a quote on fixing it. Get the quote in writing and go to 2-3 reputable shops in your area for estimates.

The molding does not snap on and off but if held on with a 3M adhesive.
