oil pressure fluctuating

the higher the rpms the less oil pressure. this is new to me when oil pumps go bad there is no pressure. this is a 89 f150 with the 5.0 engine

Sounds like a restricted oil pump screen, time to drop the pan......Check it with a mechanical gauge first.

I agree pump screen . The oil pump is normaly not the problem. You will find out if you have to drop the pan ?? Lew

I third the pump screen. You will have to jack the motor up enough to get the oil pan out from underneath. This can get involved, as the upper intake and sometimes the exhaust manifolds have to come off. And you will have to loosen the motor mounts obviously.
