When I got the truck a year ago the brake lights worked. But one day my wife was following me and told me I have no brake lights.
So I played around with the wires under the dash to find out the guy who owned it before me had spliced both wires twice.
Today I took the electrical connector out of the truck made two new wires for it so now there's only one splice in each wire vice two.
After hooking them up though I accidently touched one of the wires to the aluminum frame and it sparked.
Checked the fuses and didn't find any blown. So I checked for any juice flowing through the wires using a test light and connecting one end to the light green wire the other to the green/red wire and no juice.
Any help in what I may be doing wrong is greatly appreciated for those of you still reading Thank You!!!!!!!

Make sure the wirings tight, so no loose connections.
Make sure theres no wires touching and metal (all the energy could be absorbed into the metal if the wires touching it)
Recheck the fuses (make sure they are in proper places.
An make sure your headlight bulbs and wiring are in place and tight.
Last night before calling it a night. I had the connector plugged in to the brake light switch, when I stepped on the brake pedal and did not let off my ABS light started flashing 16 times then paused (stayed steady for a second) then kept flashing 16 more times even with depressing the brake pedal.
Without the connector plugged in no ABS light occurs. So this morning I'll re-check everything to see what I may have overlooked.
Thanks again for your help!!

Wouldn't you know the only fuse I did not look at was blown number 13.
Brake lights work like a champ.
Thanks for the help
