HFCM Issue?

I installed a Commander fuel pressure setup on my truck earlier this week. I had this setup installed previously on my 03 6.0 for over a year and it always provided reliable data, so I'm not inclined to question its accuracy.

When I first installed it on my 06 earlier this week, it said I had 48-50psi at idle. The HFCM held the pressure in that same neck of the woods (nothing in tow) for the first 20 miles or so at 60mph. However, at that point it started losing pressure a little at a time, like when I'd climb a bit of a hill the pressure would drop a bit and wouldn't come back, and before long I was cruising down the highway unloaded at 60mph with only 43psi of fuel pressure.

I bled and bled and bled the (ITP) fuel line connecting the fuel pressure sending unit to the underhood fuel filter housing, but that made no difference.

So last night I did the BB mod, just to see what would happen. Initially at idle I had 60 psi. However, after about 20 miles cruising, pressures started falling just as the had before. They got down to 50 - 52 psi, and were dipping as low as 47 psi on uphill climbs (again, 60mph with nothing in tow). Now I'm afraid to hook up the boat and head to the lake.

Does this sound like a HFCM on its way out? If so, since I would remove the Commander and Insight before going in for warranty work, what can I do to convince a dealer to replace the HFCM under warranty before it starts taking out injectors?

My pressure did the same thing, the longer the pump ran the lower the pressure.I parked the truck and borrowed a car and put a fass on as soon as I could get one. Replacing a full set of injectors does not appeal to me.LOL

Thanks Brickie. Your comment provides some confirmation that my HFCM is indeed on its way out.

Any ideas on how to approach the dealer? Or maybe I should just look for a good deal on a new or used one on my own.
