It would probably be a good idea to add a steering stabilizer, but it isn't mandatory.
They are usually bolt-on additions, but depending on what brand you get some drilling may be needed.

To me they do pretty decent in the snow. But then again here in MD we don't have significant amounts that pile up. They are great off road. you can go to cooper tires website and check it out.

I ran the 285/75/R16 STT's without a stabilizer for along time and I never had a problem with them. However, because I've been towing a lot more, I did add an OEM stabilizer. It was a very easy job. I ordered all the Ford parts from one of this sites sponsors. All I needed was the tie rod bracket, 2 u-bolts, 2 bolts for the stabilizer and the stabilizer.
