I have had a stalling problem ever since I bought my truck 4 years ago. After reviewing my history the owner prior (it was a lease turn in) he also had the stalling problem. The stalling use to only take place once every 3 or so months. It only stalls when coming to a stop. It violently shakes and then stalls. Hot of Cold weather, mostly hot I'm in Florida. If I accelerate during the process rapidly it won’t stall. Also if I throw it in to neutral it wont stall until I place it back in to drive. One it stalls it starts back up every time and will be fine for months.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> I have changed fuel filters, CPS multiple times but unlike suspected CPS stalls at random, it only stalls at deceleration. When the stall takes place it either doesn’t throw a code or the code is cleared when scanned at dealership. I did however get it to stall when I brought it in for transmission service in front of a technician and he said he’s not a tranny guy but it did sound like the torque converter was not releasing. I had transmission flushed with new clutches installed and this increased my stalling to about once a day. I suspected my Torque Converter not releasing so today after spending $2800 to replace my Torque Converter at the Dealership it stalled again. Can anyone think of what could be causing the stalling? Please help.

Check your main wiring harness down by the shock tower on the drivers side, and where it goes over the valve cover in to the connection box. it sounds like and electrical stall that may be brought on from the motor shifting from side to side during the transfer of torque.
A locked torque converter would certainly cause it to stall. However once your speed drops below 20mph, the truck is gonna start running very rough and probably stall the engine prior to coming to a stop. If you hook it up to a scanner, it should show when the TQ converter is locking/unlocking.
Thanks for all the sugestions. This should keep me busy for the weekend. Would the electrical problem progress though with a transmission fluch and new tourque converter. It went from every three or so months to daily. Thanks again I can reconfirm more knowledge here than the "EXPERTS" at the dealership.

If its in the wiring like most of us suspect, then yes it can carry over even though the trans has been replaced. Good luck, and welcome to FTE!
