I did a search but did not find what I was looking for. I have a 1990 F350 crew cab, with 7.3l idi, and 35 inch wheels. Thats a lot of truck to slow down but I am pretty sure 1 ton brakes should be a little more powerful than mine are right now.
Ok, now the tech stuff. I know that there is a relationship between the power steering pump and my brakes. My pump is leaking and is pretty close to shot. If I replace the pump, will I have more pedal and stopping power?
If you have the hydraulic booster then it depends on the power steering pump but so does the power steering. Is your steering heavier than usual?
Have you had the rear drums off? Might be worth checking condition of shoes and checking the wheel cylinders to make sure they are not seized.
Hope this helps.
