Anyone know which wire should be the negative, high and low beam + ? I've upgraded my 2004 headlights to the 05-07 style and when the low beams are on the high beam indicator on the dash is dimly lit. When the high beams are on the indicator on the dash is lit normally. I wired the new plug in exactly the same as the old plug but I'm guessing something is different?
If not it may be something related to my high beam flasher but I've never had an issue before with it doing this.
I do. stand by or check my tech files for my 05 hd conversion. http://sites.google.com/site/reax222...attredirects=0 There is a picture in my PDF of the harness done. Ground is the middle. I believe the red was high beam and green low beam. So looking at the clip on the male harness Left is low and right is high beam.
It sounds like the low beams are using the high beam wire as a ground. Power is going into the low beam side, crossing over the what should be the ground wire, but it's going back to the switch and indicator, but at a higher resistance.
Yeah. Something's not right. I'm going to take em apart and see what's what. I think it might have something to do with the headlight flasher. It has 1 wire that is supposed to be fed off of the low beam + but I think it might be connected to the ground instead. Thanks for the help. I'll post back with the results in a few.
I hear ya! I posted the pics in a new thread. Everything is working fine now. I'm gunna upgrade the harness when I get my new bulbs in too. The one that came with the kit is wimpy.
