There's an ad in the local craigslist for used tires.
Ad reads: "Goodyear Wrangler MT - Tire size is 37 x 12.5 R 16.5LT. Tires are in excellent condition. Set of four $200."
These look like Humvee takeoffs. There is also a pic in the ad. Looks like at least 8 sets of them.
You guys think that's a decent price for them if they're in good shape w/ some tread left on them? I am thinking it's a no brainer, cause I would be using them on my 76, which is pretty much a hunting/offroad truck. Sees only 20 or so miles of highway a year, rest is offroad. $50 bux a tire aint bad.
Not a bad price. Are they on wheels? Learn to read the DOT codes then you can tell when they were made. I find that older tires tend to tear beads when mounting or dismounting. I would stay away from anything over 10 years old.
I went by & took a look at the tires. This guy has a contract w/ the local Military base. He runs a tire disposal facility. He has hundreds of Humvee take-offs. Some look brand new, others not so new. He sells them for $40 each, You pick the ones you want. I picked some up to try out on my wheelin truck. Will update on how they do. May be a good, cheap source for wheelin tires.
