hey guys, i just picked up my first ford full size. had a ranger a couple years ago and my old man always had fords.
so i picked up a 88 f250 reg cab long box 4x4. has 38" swamper sx's and the 6cyl with a 5spd.
what is the rear diff? dana 44 or 9"
what are the stock gears usually? it goes alright on the highway. has a "custom" on the dash on the pass side.
it has some newer seat out fo a dodge with the flip down centre console. a windshield visor as well, not to fond of it.
You most likely have a Ford 10.25" rear axle, and probably a Dana 50 front. You could try to find the little tab attached to the diff. cove, to find out the gear ratio.
I wouldn't paint my truck with that green, but for some strange reason I really like the way that truck looks with those colors.
I can't tell from the pic, is that a solid front axle, or is that a twin beam?
i may paint where the green is gloss black. the front isn't a solid axle.(yet)
my fuel guage is now bouncing around like crazy? i may take off the windshield visor as well.

I know the early 90s and current trucks and other ford vehicles have an "anti slosh" module on the cluster gauge to prevent that bouncing of the fuel gauge. Maybe your year trucks has it too, and it just went bad.
By they way, I like the visor, but to each his own.
