Gears

I have a 2001 Lightning and wondered if anyone has changed the rear-end gears. I want to go to a 3.90 or so instead of the stock 3.73's and add a K&N filter and a superchip. Has anyone tried this or something close to it. I'm interested in 1/4 mile times. Any input would help as I'm and old Chevy Guy and know very little about Fords.

See www.submitracing.com for a good selection of gears. Its a fairly easy swap over, though not as idiot proof as the 9 inch.

4.10s are available though they're a little pricey since they're a 9.75" ring and pinion.

Later!
