diesel frames the same?

diesel frames the same?
anyone know if an 84 f-250/350 diesel truck uses the same frame if either 2wd or 4x4?? I see the 4x4's seem to have the same crossmember in the front were the diesel is mounted too.. Can anyone confirm/?

With respect to F-250/F-350s...Diesel vs. gas the frames are the same. The frames are different between 4x4 and 2x4 due to the leaf spring mounts in the front of the 4x4 frames. Other than that, it is the crossmembers (can be interchanged) that are different between 2x4 and 4x4 due to the different suspension components and transmissions. The engines just use different mounts on the engine cradle. Frames on F-350s are different between dually and non dually (closer rails on dually), but that's not what you asked.

I have an 85 Diesel 4x4. And it has leaf springs on front. Boy, what an awful ride unloaded. I would rather tow a heavy trailer, makes it ride better.. I have the non-extended cab. On a long trip it tires me out....
