Hi guys, so i drove over the curb into my driveway awhile back and when my front left tire got on top of the curb (right tire still on the street) I heard a grinding noise from the front end of my truck, every time i get the front end on something uneven like this it makes this sound. It seems like it didnt do it until i put the new exhaust on (MBRP 4" turbo back) but i cant figure out why that would make a difference. Its an 05 Lariat 4x4 w/ about 125k. Thanks
It could be your tires touching the plastic part of your front bumper - if you have oversized tires.
Also, since you mentioned that it appeared after the turboback exhaust install, I'd check out the clearance between the downpipe and the cab. On uneven, bumpy roads the cab actually has a serious movement - since it's mounted on the frame with rubber bushings - so there is a possibility, that your downpipe touches the cab at the mentioned situation....

Is it grinding or rubbing noise? Mine does the same thing when i pull into driveway (moreso turning right then left) but mine is a rubbing noise. Pretty sure its hitting the plastic innerfender even after i trimmed it. I'm going to check the downpipe now though.
Hey guys, your grinding sound sounds alot like my humming sound that I blogged about a while back and was sent in the direction of hub bearings. My hub bearings are fine but apparently I have two seals that are going out that are allowing the front axle shafts to move around two much which is causing my auto locking hubs to try and lock in. Any way one seal is where the axle shaft comes out of the axle houseing and the other is on the hub. Climb under your truck and give your axles a wiggle and see how much play you have in them. Oh, if something is rubbing like a tire for example you would be able to tell where by looking for the clean spot.
