okay here is my problem... i have a 78 f-150 lifted with 35s. it has posi front and rear with a ford 9 inch in the back and a 44 up front. also it has a 400, auto, and an np 203 t-case. now i my friends dad has a 77 highboy with just posi in the rear, and he keeps asking me to chain the trucks back to back to see whos is better because mine has the best rep around here. he says there is only one way i can beat him and i cant figure out what it is. any ideas? i think its just a bad idea in general but im still curious as to how it is possible
i figured low lock and give it h*ll, but i never thought of standing on the brakes... i just know that with the posi front and my 35x12.50s i should b able to get better traction, im just worried about the 9inch vs. the dana 60 in his 250, however the tires on the 250 are just oem ****... nothing big
you see hes really on me now i think cause his my buddy called me to pull his swamped jeep out of a mudhole... instead of the 250 and now he told his dad he thinks i coulod take it
Yeah you might break an axleshaft or worse. If you do it though, at least do it in the dirt not the pavement. With his smaller tires, hes got more avalible tourque vs your big ones unless your re-geared.

I think you and your friend need to grow up, because this is a good way to blow out a rear end or worse.
Why not hook each truck to a 48" plus diameter tree stump and see who can pull it up. Hook your trucks up to a Concrete truck and see how far you can pull it before something blows. I got it, jump your trucks and see who can land it without snapping an axle-Yeah!
i wouldnt do that... 203 is chain driven, and it wouldnt be sweet to stretch, or even snap that chain in there. but you'd prolly have him beat just by the tire diffs, but that posi would be hard on the t-case, i would imagine.
ya im only 18... and its been going on for months... i tried to buy the high boy and i think the only way he will sell is if i give in to the tug of war... but im d*mn worried about breaking sh**, but im considering it cause the high boy has all new body panels and its in great shape and he only wanted a thousand for it till i showed up with mine and now he wont sell
my truck is very low geared it has 4.10s in it and i can even put my old 33x10.50 super swampers on instead of what i got now if u think it would help
Here's how to solve it.
Get a couple of cases of beer and throw your
keys somewhere into the back yard.
Commence to drinking, and the last guy standing has the better truck.
Not really, but at least it was fun and safe.
Have fun,
Murph.
