I just replaced all four of my shocks today because everytime i would go over a bump there would be this awful noise coming from the front of my truck. Now i replaced the shocks and nothing has changed i dont know if something is loose up front or what. I was just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them before. Thanks in advance
I got the clunk on my passenger side when I hit a bump, its my end links and swaybar bushings, their beat. Also check your ball joints, they could be beat too.

The noise was right under my front floor boards, replaced the sway bar links and all is quiet, although I think the sway bar bushings on mine are on the way out. As poppa pump says, ball joints will "clunk" also, my original ball joints were toast at 40,000 miles, if it turns out to be the ball joints use the ones with grease able uppers.

Not a difficult job, I got the parts from NAPA/Ford (local ford dealer owns every dealership in the area and NAPA) they come with the bolts and nuts, the fronts were @ $75.00 for the pair and the rears were @ $50.00. All you have to do is unbolt the old and bolt in the new. If you jack the truck up make sure that you lift both sides evenly so as not to twist the sway bar, if you do you will play hell getting the bolts out. My truck is 4 x 4 so was easy to get under it to swap them out. The drivers side rear is a bit of a b*tch to get out as the top is cleverly hidden behind the fuel tank, I waited to do them untill I did my fuel system mods and had the tank out. hope this helps.

Good info there Dan, from what alot of guys say, them bushings can be a bugger to get out, some use a press or torch them out. Here's a good place also if you not near any parts store, courtesy of (Robin) PaysonPSD
That's how I bought them, complete link, saves the hassle of having to find a press, the picture article is a great writeup, although it shows an excursion and not being able to get the bolt out next to the exhaust, IIRC on my truck that was not a problem, also, if you are just doing the links you don't have to unbolt the sway bar from the truck, depending on what you replace that may save you a couple of steps.

Man you guys reply fast!!! LOL
Anyhow I had the same issue. It was a sway bar bushing that attached to the frame. I had a tech replace it, no more clunk.

Well Dan, that works even better if you don't have the tools, reps to you for your find..
