You're trying to convert to 4x4? Forget the TTB and get a D60 straight axle. You could probably mod it to run coils, but it would probably take a ton of work. On that note though, it may take a ton of work to make a pair of leafs fit in your 2wd (spring perches etc).
I've got a '88 4wd F350 back home in Oregon... but I'm stationed out here in NC for at least another 2 years.
I was planning on taking everything from the front of my '88 and swapping it in. Or if the frames are the same I could swap everying onto the 4wd frame... It also is a 5-speed truck so I was thinking about doing a 4x4 and manual swap all at once
Gotcha. Where at in OR? I was a short-time eastern OR resident.
I don't think the frames are identical, so you'll probably be better off swapping the stuff to your frame.
Wow, seems to be alot more diesel guys on here from Oregon than NC... wish I was back home, probably won't be able to move back for another 6 years if I re-enlist
I'm thinking I'll swap in leaf springs when I'm ready to do the swap
Thank you for your service!
I also am looking into swapping my TTB for a solid axle. I just need to check gear Ratio.
Well thank you for your support!
Right now my truck is 2wd... so I'm trying to get parts together to do a 4wd swap. It's my daily driver so I won't mind having the TTB front, I won't be abusing it offroad, just some camping trips, snowboarding, stuff like that. I want 4wd in those kinds of situations, but my '88 F350 is gonna be my offroad rig.
